LEWISTON, Idaho – Workshops on how to write a business plan and small business tax issues are the November offerings by the North Central Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College.
The “Write Your Business Plan Now” workshop will be held on Nov. 1 at 9-11:30 a.m. at the North Central Idaho SBDC office, located at 406 Main St. in Lewiston. The fee is $20 and the workshop will be taught by Barbara Leachman, the director of the North Central Idaho SBDC. The workshop will help attendees write a business plan that will help with starting, buying, selling, growing, and raising capital for a business as part of a 10-step process.
The “Small Business Tax Issues” workshop is Nov. 8, also at 9-11:30 a.m. and at the North Central Idaho SBDC office. Su Brown, a certified CPA, will be the instructor and there is a $20 fee for the workshop. Participants will learn about common business expenses that are tax deductible and the general rules for those deductions. Topics include when meal, travel and entertainment expenses are tax deductible and how to benefit from tax law changes.
