LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State College Chapter of the Idaho State Nursing Association is sponsoring a bone marrow drive this Saturday at 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Art Under the Elms on the LCSC campus.
The group will have a booth on community row at Art Under the Elms where people can register to be a donor, give a financial contribution, or buy raffle tickets for one of three gift baskets.
The LCSC Chapter is trying to raise awareness for being a bone marrow donor. A common misconception is how bone marrow is procured because roughly 80 percent of the time it is collected through a peripheral line (similar to blood donation).
Information on becoming a bone marrow donor will be available at the booth. And raffle tickets will be sold for themed baskets for outdoor men, spa day, and family fun. Free candy also will be available at the booth.
For those interested in becoming a bone marrow donor but can’t make it to the booth on Saturday, they can learn more information or register online.
For more information on the drive, contact Carly Blair, president of the LCSC Chapter of ISNA, at 208-627-2247 or cablair@lcmail.lcsc.edu.
