LCSC sets full slate of events for Homecoming Week on Oct. 16-21

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will celebrate the old and the new with its fourth annual modern day Homecoming Week on Oct. 16-21.

There are several activities planned for the week, including President Cynthia Pemberton’s investiture and festivities, that celebrate the college’s 125th anniversary. LCSC turned 125 on Jan. 27 of this year. This date marked the official anniversary of Idaho Gov. William J. McConnell authorizing the establishment of Lewiston State Normal School in 1893.

All Homecoming events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. Anyone planning to attend one or more events is asked to register. While registration is free, there is an opportunity to purchase LCSC Homecoming T-shirts for $5 apiece during the process. The deadline for ordering a shirt is Oct. 1.

Student activities during the week include a Warrior Flag Find and a Humans vs. Zombies game. The flag event is sponsored by the LCSC Alumni Association, which will hide a flag each day at locations across the campus. The student who located and returns the flag to the alumni office will receive free LCSC apparel. The daily winners will compete on Saturday night for a chance to win a big screen TV. Clues on where to find the flags will be posted on the LCSC Alumni Facebook and Instagram accounts at 9 a.m. each day, starting on Oct. 16.

The Humans vs. Zombies game will take place on campus. Students who play will either be humans or zombies. The zombies will try to capture the humans.

Also during the week, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear Homecoming-themed clothes. The themes are Red Day for Wednesday, Oct. 17, Blue Day for Thursday, Oct. 18, and LCSC Spirit Day to show Warrior Pride on Friday, Oct. 19.  Those who participate are encouraged to post photos to Instagram with #LCHOMECOMING125 to win prizes.
