LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will serve as the host site for the Idaho District II Higher Education Day, which will take place Wednesday, March 21, at 9-10:45 a.m.
More than 250 high school students from Lapwai, Culdesac, Craigmont, Kendrick, Orofino, Genesee, Troy, Potlatch, Nezperce, Moscow, Riggins and Lakeside are expected to attend the event. Students will have the opportunity to meet with officials from three different colleges and universities in Idaho. Along with LCSC, higher education participants include the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, Boise State University and North Idaho College.
The day will consist of an opening session at 9-9:15 a.m. at the Silverthorne Theatre, followed by three 25 minute sessions put on by the colleges at both the Williams Conference Center and Student Union Building. Students will have their choice of up to three college presentations to attend. Following the third session at 10:20-10:45 a.m., students will head to their busses and depart.
The event is sponsored by the Idaho Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (IACRAO). This group helps the colleges work together to regularly hold a state-wide tour in the spring to inform high school students about their college options in Idaho.
In addition, LCSC recruiters will visit students from Clearwater Valley in Kooskia on Thursday morning, March 22, and then at Grangeville High on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, the LCSC recruiters will be at Lewiston High in the morning and Prairie High in the afternoon.
